Researchers at the University of Hong Kong have developed a new AI Blood Test tool that can estimate future cardiovascular disease risk. The system is designed to detect early warning signals years before symptoms appear.

The new AI Blood Test is called CardiOmicScore. It can predict the risk of six major heart-related diseases. These include coronary artery disease, stroke, heart failure, atrial fibrillation, peripheral artery disease, and venous thromboembolism.

The findings were published in Nature Communications. Researchers said the AI Blood Test could help doctors identify high-risk patients much earlier than current methods.

According to the study, CardiOmicScore can provide warning signals up to 15 years before disease onset. This early prediction may support preventive treatment and lifestyle changes.

Scientists explained that the AI Blood Test works by analyzing molecular changes in the body. These changes often appear long before physical symptoms develop.

The system uses deep learning technology. It combines different biological data types, including genomics, metabolomics, and proteomics. This combined approach is known as multiomics analysis.

Researchers used large-scale data from the UK Biobank to develop and test the model. They analyzed thousands of blood samples from different participants.

In total, the system studied 2,920 circulating proteins and 168 metabolites. These biological markers help reflect changes in immunity, metabolism, and vascular health.

Experts said the AI Blood Test can detect hidden disease risks that routine tests may miss. This makes it a potentially powerful tool for early diagnosis.

The study suggests that a simple blood sample could one day help predict long-term heart health. This may allow doctors to start treatment much earlier.

Health experts believe this technology could reduce serious cardiovascular complications in the future. It may also improve preventive healthcare systems worldwide.

However, researchers said the AI Blood Test is still in the development stage. More clinical trials are needed before it can be used widely in hospitals.

They emphasized that the tool is not yet a replacement for standard medical tests. Instead, it is an advanced research-based system.
