Star opening batsman, Abdullah Shafique, delivered an exceptional performance during the second Test match against Sri Lanka at the Sinhalese Sports Club Cricket Ground. The right-handed cricketer achieved a historic maiden double-century in the first innings, helping the national team secure a formidable lead.

This remarkable innings also made him the highest run-scorer among opening batsmen from a visiting team at the iconic Sinhalese Sports Club venue, surpassing the likes of Mohammad Hafeez, Justin Langer, and Shoaib Malik.

Notably, if Abdullah Shafique manages to score 209 runs, he will become the highest individual run-scorer by a Pakistani player in Sri Lanka.
