A total of 77 cases involving sexual exploitation and violence against children under the age of 18 were reported in Islamabad during the first eight months of the reporting period, according to an official report submitted by Islamabad Police to the Ministry of Interior.
The report shows that 85 accused have been arrested, while 25 others remain at large. So far, only five accused have been convicted, while trials involving 57 accused are still ongoing.

Sawan Zone Reports Highest Number of Cases
According to the official document, the Sawan Zone recorded 21 cases involving sexual abuse and violence against children during the eight-month period.
The City Zone reported 18 cases, making it the second-highest number among the zones listed in the report.
The Saddar and I-9 Zones each recorded 15 cases, while the Rural Zone reported another eight incidents.
The zone-wise figures account for all 77 cases reported during the period.
85 Accused Arrested, 25 Still at Large
The report submitted by Islamabad Police states that 85 accused have been arrested in connection with the reported cases.
At the same time, 25 accused remain at large, according to the official figures.
Police investigations and legal proceedings are continuing in cases where suspects have been arrested or have not yet been apprehended.
