[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]WhatsApp is taking steps to compete with platforms like Google Meet and Zoom by introducing an upgraded feature for group calls. The popular chat messenger by Meta will soon allow users to schedule calls within group chats, similar to the functionality offered by other video conferencing platforms. This feature was discovered in the latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android (2.23.17.7).

The upcoming feature enables users to plan future group calls and notify all members of the group accordingly. Users can set a specific time and date for the conference call, specify whether it will be a video or audio call, and even provide a purpose for the call.

Those who choose to “Join call” within the group will receive an automatic notification 15 minutes before the scheduled call time.

This new feature aims to simplify the process of planning group calls, eliminating the need for manual reminders. The feature is currently in beta testing and will be gradually rolled out to more users in the coming weeks. As of now, there is no official release date for the wider launch of this feature on WhatsApp.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
