US Woman Converts to Islam, Marries Pakistani Man in Khewra

An American woman has travelled to Khewra in Jhelum to marry a Pakistani man she first met through social media, turning a three-year online friendship into a cross-border love story.

Rosanna Marina, an American national, married Khewra resident Adil Shahzad after embracing Islam. Their relationship, which reportedly began with a Facebook connection, gradually developed into a close friendship before eventually turning into love.

According to Adil, he added Rosanna on Facebook around three years ago. The two remained in contact and their bond strengthened over time. After years of communication, Adil decided to take the relationship forward and make Rosanna his bride.

Rosanna travelled to Pakistan to be with Adil and reportedly stated that she had come to the country voluntarily.

She also recorded her statement before a court, confirming her consent to the marriage and making it clear that she had entered into the union willingly.

The couple eventually reached Khewra, where they completed their marriage ceremony.

According to the report, Rosanna also became interested in Islam after arriving in Pakistan. She embraced Islam before marrying Adil, adding another significant dimension to the couple’s cross-border relationship.

Her conversion and subsequent marriage to a Pakistani man have attracted considerable attention among local residents and social media users.

Love Story Crosses Borders and Cultures

The couple’s story has drawn attention because their relationship developed despite the geographical distance separating them.

What began as a simple social media friendship eventually developed into a romantic relationship and ultimately led Rosanna to travel from the United States to Pakistan.

The story has also attracted discussion because of the age difference between the two. However, different accounts have reported different ages for the couple. One account identifies Rosanna as 58 and Adil as 34, while another gives their ages as 51 and 35.

Despite the conflicting figures, the main details of their relationship remain consistent: they met online, stayed connected for around three years, developed a relationship and eventually married in Khewra.

Social Media Friendship Leads to Marriage

The couple’s journey highlights how social media has increasingly connected people from different countries and cultures.

Their relationship began online but eventually developed into a real-life commitment, with Rosanna travelling to Pakistan and choosing to marry Adil.

The marriage has since become a topic of discussion in Khewra and across social media, where users have reacted to the unusual journey from a Facebook friendship to an international marriage.

For the couple, a relationship that began thousands of miles apart has now resulted in a new chapter of their lives together in Pakistan.
