Tragic Collision on Islamabad Expressway Claims Four Lives, Injures Five

A collision between a car and a motorbike on Islamabad Expressway resulted in the loss of four lives and left five individuals injured on Monday.

The incident occurred in the vicinity of Dhok Kala Khan stop in Rawalpindi, with the injured promptly transported to a nearby hospital, according to the news.

A spokesperson for 1122 conveyed that the deceased bodies were transferred to PIMS Hospital, noting that the condition of four of the injured individuals was critical.

Sources indicate that two of the deceased and all the injured were affiliated with the Christian community. Allegedly, individuals in the car were also suspected to be under the influence of intoxicants.

On December 22, a total of 1,197 Road Traffic Crashes (RTCs) were reported across all 37 districts of Punjab within a 24-hour period, resulting in 13 fatalities and 1,280 injuries.

Among the injured, 572 individuals with severe injuries were transferred to different hospitals, while 708 victims with minor injuries received on-site treatment from rescue medical teams.

Motorbikes were predominantly involved in the majority of the crashes. Further analysis revealed that 696 drivers, 43 underage drivers, 162 pedestrians, and 435 passengers were among the victims.
