Sindh to Distribute Pink Scooters in Another District

The Sindh Government is set to continue its women-focused mobility initiative by distributing pink electric scooters in another district as part of the ongoing rollout of the scheme.

According to officials, the next distribution ceremony will take place in Sukkur on Friday, April 17. The program is being carried out under the supervision of the Sindh Mass Transit Authority, which is overseeing the implementation across the province.

This latest phase comes after the government decided to expand the project beyond Karachi, where the initiative was first introduced. Authorities have now included Sukkur and Hyderabad in the expansion plan, aiming to benefit more women by improving their daily commuting options.

Officials stated that the scooters are being provided free of cost to selected applicants, with the goal of enhancing mobility and reducing transportation challenges faced by women. The initiative is designed to support students and working women by making travel more convenient and affordable.

As per the eligibility criteria, applicants must be permanent residents of Sindh. In addition, they should either be enrolled as students or employed. A valid driving license for a motorcycle or car is also mandatory to qualify for the scheme.

The program has already seen successful implementation in Karachi, where many women received electric scooters under the same initiative. Encouraged by the response, authorities plan to gradually extend the scheme to more districts across the province.

Officials indicated that the distribution process will continue in phases, ensuring that more eligible women benefit from the initiative as it expands further in the coming months.
