Minister of State Huzaifa Rehman has sparked an online debate after comparing Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s intelligence to that of legendary scientist Isaac Newton.
Rehman made the remarks during a prime-time television programme, where he praised the prime minister’s intelligence, leadership, and strict administrative standards. He claimed that Shehbaz Sharif’s intelligence quotient (IQ) was almost comparable to Newton’s.
The unusual comparison quickly attracted attention on social media. Many users questioned the claim, while others made jokes and criticised the minister for comparing a political leader with one of history’s most celebrated scientists.
Newton is widely recognised for his major contributions to physics and mathematics, including the laws of motion and universal gravitation.
Minister Makes Another Surprising Claim About Cabinet
The Newton comparison was not the only statement from Rehman that attracted attention.
During the programme, he also claimed that Shehbaz Sharif maintains such strict standards of merit that only two or three members of the 55-member federal cabinet would qualify if those standards were applied strictly.
His remarks suggested that more than 50 ministers might not meet the performance and competence standards expected by the prime minister.
The statement raised questions about the selection of cabinet members. Critics questioned how ministers who allegedly fall short of such standards were appointed to the federal cabinet in the first place.
Rehman presented his comments as praise for Shehbaz Sharif’s commitment to merit and administrative discipline.
He also made a lighthearted remark suggesting that his own intelligence was sufficiently close to the prime minister’s to justify his position in the government.
What Is Known About Isaac Newton’s IQ?
Isaac Newton is considered one of the most influential scientists in history. His work helped shape modern physics and mathematics.
Historical estimates have placed Newton’s IQ somewhere between 190 and 200. However, these figures are not scientifically verified.
Newton died in 1727, long before modern intelligence testing was introduced. As a result, he never took a standardised IQ test, and his exact IQ remains unknown.
This makes direct comparisons between Newton’s intelligence and that of modern public figures difficult to establish through measurable evidence.
Remarks Trigger Online Trolling
Rehman’s comments became a topic of discussion on social media, particularly the comparison between Shehbaz Sharif and Newton.
The remarks attracted jokes, criticism, and questions about the basis of the minister’s claim.
The statement about the federal cabinet also drew attention because it appeared to suggest that most members did not meet the standards supposedly expected by the prime minister.
According to Rehman, Shehbaz Sharif also holds weekly federal cabinet meetings and expects ministers to demonstrate discipline, competence, and accountability.
However, the minister’s comments have shifted public attention towards the unusual intelligence comparison and the questions surrounding his assessment of cabinet members.
