SBP Announces Bank Holiday on July 1

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced that banks and financial institutions across the country will remain closed for public transactions on Wednesday, July 1, in observance of a bank holiday.

According to the central bank, all commercial banks will remain closed for customer transactions on the day, while bank employees will attend their offices as usual.

The SBP said public dealings throughout the banking system will remain suspended during the holiday.

The announcement also applies to development financial institutions and microfinance banks, which will likewise remain closed for public transactions on July 1.

The central bank clarified that although banking services for customers will remain unavailable, employees of banks, development financial institutions, and microfinance banks will report to work as part of normal office operations.

The bank holiday will be observed by all banking institutions across Pakistan.
