Samsung Reveals Possible Pricing for Galaxy Z Flip5

Share

Samsung Romania has launched a campaign offering ten Galaxy Z Flip5 phones as giveaways to pre-registered individuals. However, an inadvertent publication of a PDF detailing the terms and conditions unveiled the potential price of the giveaway items.

According to the document, the 256 GB Z Flip5 is valued at RON 6,599, which is approximately €1,335. In comparison, last year’s 256 GB Z Flip4 was initially priced at RON 5,700, indicating a 16% increase in the cost of the new model.

Previous leaks from Greece and France suggested similar pricing for the Z Flip5. The Greek leak listed the 128 GB model at around €1,300, while the French leak indicated that the 256 GB variant would be priced at €1,200, slightly higher than the Z Flip4 256 GB’s price of €1,170 last year.

It is important to note that VAT rates differ across EU countries, with rates of 19% in Romania, 24% in Greece, and 20% in France. Despite this, there are noticeable variations in the leaked prices. The Romanian leak suggests a pre-VAT price of €1,120, while the French leak indicates €1,000 (both for the 256 GB model). The Greek leak points to a pre-VAT price of €1,050 for the smaller 128 GB version.

A €70 difference (before VAT) between the 128 GB and 256 GB models seems plausible, but the French pricing for the 256 GB variant appears surprisingly low.

The official unveiling of the Galaxy Z Flip5 is scheduled for July 26. It is worth noting that the French leak also mentioned a potential higher price increase (€100-120) for the Galaxy Z Fold5, but there has been no confirmation from either Romania or Greece regarding this matter yet.
