The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast partly cloudy weather in Islamabad and surrounding areas, with chances of rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms.
According to the latest forecast, some areas of the federal capital could also receive hail. Temperatures in Islamabad are expected to remain between 21°C and 34°C.
The weather department has also forecast rain, strong winds, thunderstorms and dust storms at various locations across the country. Heavy rainfall and hail are possible at isolated places.
Most plain areas of Pakistan are expected to remain hot and dry. Partly cloudy conditions are likely in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and upper Punjab.
Residents in areas where thunderstorms and strong winds are expected have been advised to remain cautious, particularly during periods of severe weather. Heavy rain can also temporarily affect traffic and daily activities in affected areas.
Meanwhile, Islamabad residents are also facing scheduled electricity suspensions on Friday as development work continues in several parts of the capital.
The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has issued a temporary power outage schedule for selected feeders. According to the company, electricity supply will be suspended in several areas because of development projects being carried out by the district administration.
The scheduled outages are expected to take place between 8am and 12pm in the affected areas. Consumers in the relevant localities may experience temporary disruption during the announced period.
IESCO has apologised to consumers for the inconvenience caused by the planned suspension and provided a helpline for assistance.
The combination of changing weather conditions and scheduled power interruptions means residents in affected areas may face disruptions during the day. Citizens are advised to remain aware of local weather updates and the announced electricity outage schedule.
