The Punjab government has introduced stricter measures to prevent fake student enrollments in government schools across the province. The new rules place greater responsibility on headmasters and school heads to ensure accurate student records.
The School Education Department reported that some schools had previously inflated their enrollment figures through fake admissions. These schools allegedly used forged NADRA forms to meet student enrollment targets.
Under the new policy, student B-Form numbers will be verified through the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA). All headmasters and school heads must ensure that students’ identification details are checked and recorded correctly.
Punjab Makes B-Form Verification Mandatory
The latest instructions require schools to verify the B-Forms of children enrolled in their institutions. School heads will be responsible for ensuring that the information entered into official records matches the relevant identification documents.
The government aims to improve the accuracy of school enrollment data through this verification process. The measure is also intended to prevent schools from reporting false student numbers to meet official targets.
However, the new rules do not make a B-Form compulsory for admission. Children who do not have a B-Form must still be allowed to enroll in school.
In such cases, schools will record the father’s National Identity Card (CNIC) number instead. This provision is intended to ensure that children are not deprived of educational opportunities because of missing documentation.
School Heads Given Ten-Day Deadline
The School Education Department has directed schools to complete the registration of B-Form numbers for all students within ten days. Headmasters and other school heads will be responsible for meeting the deadline.
The authorities have also assigned school heads responsibility for correcting errors in student records. They will bear the costs associated with fixing incorrect entries.
These requirements place additional administrative duties on school leadership. They also establish clear accountability for maintaining accurate enrollment information.
The Punjab government is seeking to strengthen oversight of public schools and improve the reliability of student registration data. Verifying identification details could help authorities identify discrepancies in school enrollment figures.
The policy combines stricter record verification with a provision that protects children without B-Forms. Schools must follow the new instructions while ensuring that documentation issues do not prevent admissions.

The ten-day deadline gives school heads a limited period to complete the required registration process. Their compliance will be essential to ensuring that student records remain accurate and properly verified.
