PTA Introduces New Offer for Freelancers to Ensure Uninterrupted Internet Access in Pakistan

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has initiated a registration program for IP addresses and Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) to ensure uninterrupted internet access across the country. This initiative specifically targets freelancers, businesses, and foreign embassies operating within Pakistan.

  • VPN Registration: The PTA emphasizes that registering VPNs will enable users to maintain smooth internet services and secure connectivity. Foreign missions are urged to register their VPNs promptly to prevent any service disruptions.
  • Free Registration Process: The registration is free of charge and is expected to be completed within two to three days after the verification of the internet service provider.
  • IP Address Limitations: For users needing more than five IP addresses, an IP whitelisting fee will be applicable.
  • International Servers: Servers located abroad that serve users within Pakistan are also required to register under this initiative.
  • Objective: The PTA’s aim is to streamline internet usage while ensuring compliance with national regulations and safeguarding users from potential cybersecurity threats.
