PSL 12 Dates Confirmed
The Pakistan Super League (PSL) 12 will be played from March 18 to May 2, 2027, with all eight franchises set to return for the 12th edition of the tournament.
The PSL 2027 window was finalized after consultations with key stakeholders following a meeting of the PSL Governing Council in London on September 1, 2026. Owners and representatives of all eight franchises attended the meeting.
The announcement marks the beginning of preparations for the next season, with several important activities expected to take place before the tournament begins.
Auction and Player Activities
The confirmed tournament window clears the way for the league to proceed with direct player signings, retention announcements, the trade window and the player auction.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is expected to announce the dates for these activities in due course. The complete PSL 12 match schedule, venues and ticketing details will also be announced later.
PSL 12 will follow the expanded eight-team format introduced in the 2026 season. The league also replaced its traditional player draft with an auction for the first time.
Peshawar Zalmi Won PSL 11
Peshawar Zalmi entered PSL 12 as the defending champions after winning the 11th edition of the tournament.
Zalmi defeated debutants Hyderabad Kingsmen by five wickets in the PSL 11 final on May 3, 2026. The victory ended Peshawar’s nine-year wait for a second PSL title.
The final was played at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore and attracted a record crowd of 32,461 spectators, according to the league.
The 2027 season will therefore begin with Peshawar Zalmi defending its title against the other seven franchises.
Preparations Begin for PSL 12
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said the board was committed to delivering another strong season, while PSL Chief Executive Officer Salman Naseer described the announcement of the tournament window as the first major step in preparations for PSL 12.
With the dates now confirmed, franchises can begin planning their squads and preparations for the upcoming season. Further details about player signings, the auction, venues, fixtures and tickets are expected to be announced in the coming months.
The tournament will run for more than six weeks, giving cricket fans another full PSL season featuring all eight franchises.
