PSCA Launches Surveillance Plan for Eid Cattle Markets in Punjab

The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has launched a special surveillance plan ahead of Eid-ul-Azha. The initiative aims to improve security at cattle markets across Punjab. It focuses on ensuring public safety and better monitoring of crowded areas.

According to officials, PSCA is using advanced monitoring systems for this operation. These include Safe City cameras, drone surveillance, and portable 4G cameras. The system is active in multiple cities, including Lahore.

The authority said cattle markets are being monitored round the clock. The PSCA Virtual Patrolling Center is managing this continuous surveillance from its headquarters. This setup helps track real-time activity at key locations.

A spokesperson for PSCA confirmed that additional portable cameras are being installed. These cameras are placed at entry and exit points of cattle markets. They also cover sensitive areas where large crowds gather.

Officials said the purpose of this system is to improve situational awareness. Any suspicious activity detected through PSCA monitoring is immediately reported to police and field teams. Quick response teams are then deployed when needed.

The surveillance plan covers both legal and unauthorized cattle markets. The PSCA is also identifying illegal sale points across Punjab. These locations are being reported to relevant departments for action.

Authorities said the goal is to ensure organized arrangements during Eid-ul-Azha. They want to reduce security risks and improve crowd management. The use of technology plays a key role in this plan.

Drone surveillance is also being used in selected areas. It provides aerial monitoring of large cattle markets. This helps PSCA teams better understand crowd movement and traffic flow.

Officials said the system improves coordination between departments. Police and field units receive instant alerts from the PSCA control room. This allows faster decision-making during emergencies.

The initiative is part of Punjab’s broader Safe City project. It focuses on using modern technology for public safety. Authorities believe this will help manage large gatherings more effectively.
