The PKR continued its positive trend against the US Dollar on Thursday. The local currency strengthened for the 209th consecutive trading session, extending its long-running streak in the interbank market.
According to the latest exchange rate data, the PKR closed at Rs. 277.81 against the US Dollar. It gained one paisa compared to the previous trading day. The local currency has recorded continuous gains against the dollar since December 25, 2025.
The latest movement reflects continued stability in the exchange market. Even though the gain was small, it marked another positive session for the rupee against the US Dollar.
The PKR showed mixed performance against other major international currencies during Thursday’s trading.
The rupee remained stable against the UAE Dirham (AED). It also appreciated by one paisa against the Saudi Riyal (SAR). These small changes reflected limited movement in regional currencies.
However, the local currency weakened against several European currencies. It lost Rs. 1.49 against the Euro (EUR) and Rs. 1.36 against the British Pound (GBP) during the day.
The rupee also declined against the Australian Dollar (AUD) and the Canadian Dollar (CAD). It fell by 39 paisas against the Australian Dollar and 46 paisas against the Canadian Dollar.
Meanwhile, the currency recorded a slight loss against the Chinese Yuan (CNY). On the other hand, it posted a small gain against the Malaysian Ringgit (MYR).
