The Pakistan Forest Institute (PFI) Peshawar has officially opened admissions for its four-year BS Forestry Degree Program for the 2026 academic session, inviting applications from eligible male and female candidates across Pakistan.
The admission announcement has been issued under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Climate Change, Forestry, Environment and Wildlife Department. Students from all provinces, including Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), are eligible to apply against limited open merit and reserved quota seats.
In addition to first-semester admissions, the institute has also announced admissions for the fifth semester of the BS Forestry program, providing an opportunity for eligible BSc Forestry graduates to continue their studies.
For admission to the four-year BS Forestry program, applicants must have completed their Secondary School Certificate (SSC) with Science or an equivalent qualification, along with FSc Pre-Medical, FSc Pre-Engineering, or an equivalent qualification. Candidates must have secured at least a second division in both examinations.
Applicants are also required to obtain a minimum of 50 marks in the National Testing Service (NTS) entry or screening test. The maximum age limit for applicants is 22 years as of the closing date for admissions.
Meanwhile, candidates seeking admission directly into the fifth semester must have completed a BSc Forestry degree from the Pakistan Forest Institute, Peshawar, with at least 45 percent marks.
Unlike first-semester applicants, fifth-semester candidates are exempt from the NTS entry test. The admission advertisement also does not specify any upper age limit for students applying under this category.
PFI has also allowed students awaiting their FSc examination results to apply on a provisional basis. However, such applicants must submit an attested copy of their Detailed Marks Certificate (DMC) or qualification certificate immediately after the official results are announced.
The institute has released a detailed admission schedule for prospective students. Registration for the NTS entry or screening test will remain open until August 10, 2026, while the test is tentatively scheduled to be conducted on August 23, 2026.
Candidates who successfully qualify in the NTS examination will be able to download the official admission forms from the PFI website beginning August 24, 2026.
The last date for submitting completed admission forms along with all required documents to the Pakistan Forest Institute, Peshawar, is September 11, 2026.
PFI has stated that the schedule for interviews and physical tests will be announced later through its official website as well as via email, WhatsApp, and SMS notifications to eligible applicants.
To apply, candidates must first register for the NTS entry or screening test through the official NTS website before the registration deadline. Only applicants who secure at least 50 marks in the test will be eligible to proceed with the admission process.
Successful candidates must download the admission form from the official PFI website, complete it, and submit it along with attested copies of all required educational documents and the original deposit slip for the Rs. 1,000 non-refundable application fee.
The institute has cautioned applicants that incomplete application forms, submissions without the original fee deposit slip, or applications received after the deadline will not be considered.
