The federal government has announced another revision in petroleum prices, reducing the rates of both petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) for the next 24 hours under the daily pricing mechanism.
According to the latest notification issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), the price of motor spirit (petrol) has been reduced by Rs. 3.19 per litre, bringing the new rate down to Rs. 329.82 per litre.
Meanwhile, the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has also been cut by Rs. 1.50 per litre, lowering its price to Rs. 382.36 per litre.
The latest adjustment comes just a day after petrol prices were increased by Rs. 4.45 per litre to Rs. 333.01, while diesel was reduced by Rs. 2.00 per litre to Rs. 383.86.
Daily Fuel Prices Continue to Fluctuate
Pakistan’s shift to daily petroleum pricing has resulted in frequent changes to fuel rates. Since the new mechanism was introduced in July, petrol and diesel prices have witnessed multiple upward and downward revisions.
Despite today’s relief, fuel prices remain significantly higher than they were before the daily pricing system came into effect.
According to the latest data, petrol has increased by Rs. 18.42 per litre, while diesel has surged by Rs. 59.03 per litre since the start of daily fuel price revisions.
Motorists and transporters continue to closely monitor daily price announcements as fluctuating fuel costs directly impact transportation expenses, inflation, and overall business activity across the country.
