Pakistan won its fifth medal at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games on Tuesday. The national PUBG Mobile team secured a bronze medal in esports.
The competition was held at the Aichi Sky Expo in Tokoname. Pakistan finished third in the 12-match final with 100 points.
Thailand won the gold medal after collecting 128 points. China finished second with 114 points and secured the silver medal.
Pakistan’s team included Mohammad Huzaifa, Shayan Asad, Falak Sher, Hasnain Rehman, and Syed Sameer.
The team entered the second day with 39 points. Those points came from the opening six matches of the competition.
Pakistan then produced a stronger performance during the final six matches. The team added 61 points on the second day.
Its best results included 16 points in the seventh match. Pakistan also earned 10 points each in the eighth and ninth matches.
The team collected another 12 points in the 11th match. It added 12 more points during the final match.
Pakistan finished third in the concluding match with 12 points. The total included four placement points and eight elimination points.
Japan topped the final match with 18 points. Thailand finished second with 14 points in that match.
Across all 12 matches, Thailand maintained a consistent performance. The team finished 28 points ahead of Pakistan.
China ended the competition with 114 points. This placed them 14 points ahead of Pakistan in the final standings.
Vietnam and Indonesia both finished with 95 points. South Korea followed with 71 points.
Chinese Taipei collected 62 points, while Jordan finished with 61 points.
The PUBG Mobile result added another bronze medal to Pakistan’s overall tally. Pakistan now has five bronze medals at the Asian Games.
Other medals have come from several different sports and athletes. Pakistan’s women’s cricket team also won a bronze medal.
The women’s cricket team defeated Bangladesh by 31 runs on September 22. The victory secured their place on the podium.
Squash players Noor Zaman and Ashab Irfan also contributed to Pakistan’s medal tally. Both players reached the men’s singles semifinals.
They later lost their respective semifinal matches. Their semifinal appearances still secured medals for Pakistan.
Modern MMA fighter Asim Khan also contributed a bronze medal to the national tally.
The PUBG Mobile bronze marks Pakistan’s podium finish in an esports event. Esports was included among the medal competitions at the Games.
Twelve teams competed in the PUBG Mobile final over two days. The final standings were determined through aggregate points from all 12 matches.

Pakistan’s third-place finish therefore adds another international esports achievement to its record. The result also increases the country’s medal tally at the ongoing Games.
