Pakistan is expected to experience changing Weather conditions from May 2 to May 5, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department. A new westerly wave is entering the country and may bring widespread rain and storms.
The Met Office has warned that this Weather system will affect upper and central parts of Pakistan first. It will enter the northwestern regions on the evening of May 2. The system may remain active until May 5.
During this period, dust storms, thunderstorms, rain, and isolated heavy showers are expected. Some areas may also experience hailstorms and strong winds.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Weather is expected to remain unstable. Rain and thunderstorms may occur in several districts with short breaks. Areas like Swat, Peshawar, Mansehra, and Dir are likely to be affected. Heavy rain and hail may also hit some regions.
Punjab and Islamabad will also face changing Weather conditions. Dust storms and thunderstorms are expected in cities including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, and Sialkot. Some areas may receive heavy rain and hail on May 3 and May 4.
Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir will see rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms during the same period. The Weather in these northern areas may remain cloudy and unstable with occasional heavy rainfall.
Balochistan is also expected to experience wind and thunderstorms. Quetta, Zhob, and nearby areas may see strong winds and rain with gaps in between.
Upper Sindh may face dust thunderstorms on May 2 and May 3. The Weather in these areas will remain dry and dusty at times.
The Meteorological Department has also warned about possible impacts. Strong winds and hailstorms may damage weak structures. Electric poles, trees, and billboards could be affected.
Landslides may occur in mountainous regions of KP, Gilgit Baltistan, and Kashmir. Farmers have been advised to protect crops from the changing Weather conditions, especially in Punjab and KP.
Officials say the current hot Weather over plains will start to improve during this system. Temperatures are expected to drop slightly due to rain and wind activity.
Tourists and travelers have been advised to stay cautious. People should avoid unnecessary travel during severe Weather conditions. Authorities also recommend staying away from open areas during storms.
