The new arrangement does not mean visa-free travel for all Pakistani and Saudi citizens.
Instead, it applies to specific categories of passport holders, including Pakistani diplomatic and official passport holders and Saudi holders of diplomatic, official or special passports, according to the announcement.
Ordinary passport holders should therefore continue to follow the applicable visa requirements for travel between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia unless separate visa policies are announced.
For eligible officials, however, the agreement provides a more streamlined framework for travelling between the two countries.
The development comes at a time when Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are seeking closer cooperation across economic, diplomatic, defence and institutional areas.
The latest visa waiver is therefore expected to facilitate official exchanges while supporting broader efforts to strengthen the long-standing relationship between Islamabad and Riyadh.
