Pakistan Railways Set To Announce Relief For Their Passengers

The Pakistan Railways (PR) has indicated its intention to ease the burden on passengers planning to travel via the Eid Special trains. PR Chief Executive Officer Amir Baloch mentioned that the department is considering the option of reducing fares for special trains leading up to Eidul Fitr 2024.

It’s important to note that the national railways will operate four special trains to facilitate passengers during the upcoming Eid celebrations, with the schedule for these trains previously announced by the PR.

As per the announced schedule, the first Eid special train is scheduled to depart from Karachi to Peshawar on April 7 at 6 am. Similarly, the second Eid special train will leave Quetta for Rawalpindi at 10 am on the same day.

The third special train will depart from Karachi Cantt to Lahore at 9 pm on April 8th, while the fourth Eid special train is slated to depart from Lahore to Karachi at 5 pm on April 9th.

Amir Baloch also emphasized the popularity of the ‘Premium Lounge’ on the Bahauddin Zakariya Express among passengers and noted plans to extend the lounge to Tezgam and Hazara Express trains.

In the dining car, up to 45 passengers can dine simultaneously, with a menu featuring over 40 dishes. Additionally, an oven is available for freshly baked “roti,” alongside barbecue and pizza options.

The CEO of Pakistan Railways assured that issues regarding delayed employee salaries have been resolved, with efforts ongoing to address pension and gratuity concerns.
