Pakistan players warmly welcomed by Afghanistan Cricket in UAE

Pakistan team warmly welcomed

With flowers in their hands and smiles on their faces, adorable Afghan children greeted Pakistan Cricket Team with high hopes of watching good cricket.

The 15-member Pakistan national squad flew from Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport to Dubai on Wednesday evening, where they were greeted warmly.

The two neighbouring countries will begin a three-match series on Friday at Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Afghanistan was supposed to play Australia in an ODI series to kick off their season this month, but Cricket Australia declined due to political issues. Pakistan then agreed to a three-match series.

In place of regular captain Babar Azam and several more experienced players, all-rounder Shadab Khan will lead a young and revamped Pakistan squad.

To better manage their workloads, PCB has decided to rest senior players such as Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Afridi.

Both teams have competed in multi-nation events against each other, and some of those games have resulted in major crowd disturbances and player fights, resulting in a fierce rivalry.
