The Pakistan Army has announced 33 Civilian Gazetted Officer (CGO) vacancies at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi and other lower formations. The positions are open to eligible retired, released and retiring Army officers who meet the required qualifications, service conditions and professional experience.
The available posts cover several specialised fields, including aviation, engineering, psychology, procurement, supply chain management and medical administration. Interested candidates must submit their applications by September 29, 2026, according to the advertisement.
The appointments will initially be made for a period of three years. The Army may extend the contract for another year, depending on the officer’s performance and recommendations from the relevant organisation.
Who Can Apply?
The vacancies are open to retired, released or retiring Colonels, Lieutenant Colonels and Majors. Candidates must have the service background and qualifications required for the specific post they wish to apply for.
Colonels can apply up to the age of 54 years, while Lieutenant Colonels and Majors must be 52 years old or younger. However, the maximum age for pilot positions is 55 years for all three ranks.
Applicants must generally have retired and been struck off strength within the last two years. This period does not include Leave Preparatory to Retirement (LPR). For pilot positions, officers may apply if they were struck off strength within the last five years, excluding LPR.
Available Posts and Locations
The 33 vacancies include aviation-related positions in Rawalpindi and Gujranwala, as well as specialised roles in Tarbela, Multan, Quetta and Nowshera. The positions include aviation pilots, Aviation EME officers, psychologists, engineers, procurement officers and medical administration personnel.
The Rawalpindi vacancies include posts for retired Colonels and Lieutenant Colonels in aviation, technical roles and specialised aviation positions. Gujranwala has 10 aviation pilot vacancies and one Aviation EME post. Other positions are available for Major-level officers in engineering, procurement, aviation and medical administration.
Qualification and Experience Requirements
The aviation pilot posts require a BA or BSc, relevant flying qualifications, at least 1,500 flying hours and an FC-II medical category. Applicants must also have a satisfactory flight safety record, including no pilot-error accident during the last five years.
The Aviation EME positions require qualifications in Aerospace or Avionics engineering. Candidates may also need relevant OEM training, specified service courses, QAMS and several years of aviation maintenance or technical experience.
The psychologist position requires an MS in Clinical Psychology or ADCP, a valid clinical psychologist licence and five years of relevant experience. Specialisation in aviation psychology will be considered an advantage.
The Major-level vacancies include roles related to engineering, procurement, supply chain operations and medical administration. Depending on the post, applicants may need engineering degrees, procurement experience, relevant service courses, master’s degrees, MBA or supply chain qualifications. The Army Medical Corps position requires an MSc in Hospital Administration and the Mid-Career Course.
The Nowshera post is for a retired Lieutenant Colonel with the required service course and graduate or master’s degree. The three technical posts in Rawalpindi seek Aerospace or Avionics engineers with experience in technical coordination, planning, production control, flight engineering or base workshop operations.
Who Cannot Apply?
Officers facing disciplinary issues involving moral turpitude, character-related matters or misappropriation during service are not eligible. The advertisement also excludes officers who were compulsorily retired, released or discharged because of inefficiency.
How to Apply
Applicants can obtain the application form from the AG’s Branch portal, CP Directorate (CP-IV), GHQ Rawalpindi, or their nearest Station Headquarters. Photocopied forms will also be accepted.
Candidates must submit their applications in triplicate, meaning three copies, to AG’s Branch, CP Directorate (CP-IV), GHQ Rawalpindi. Each application must include four 2 × 2 photographs, with the applicant’s name written on the back, a copy of the CNIC and copies of civilian qualification certificates.
Applicants will appear before a Special Selection Board at GHQ Rawalpindi at their own expense. Candidates should carefully review the requirements for their selected post before submitting their applications.
