OnePlus will release its first foldable phone in August.

OnePlus CEO Pete Lau stated that the company’s highly awaited first foldable phone will be released in the third quarter of this year. According to a recent rumour from a reputable source, this could happen in August.

The OnePlus Fold’s debut event is apparently scheduled for the first half of August in New York. This coincides with Samsung’s projected unveiling of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5, which is set for July 26 at the Samsung Unpacked event.

Thankfully, the OnePlus Fold will be available globally, unlike most Chinese foldables, which were first only available in China. Customers in the United States, India, and all other countries where OnePlus operates will be able to purchase the gadget.

Surprisingly, rumours say that Oppo will also launch its Find N3 foldable in China around the same time in August. The OnePlus Fold could be the worldwide version of the Find N3.

Specifications

If this is correct, the OnePlus Fold will include an 8-inch folding display with 2K resolution on the inside, as well as a 6.5-inch exterior screen with 1080p quality. Both displays are projected to have a smooth refresh rate of 120 Hz.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPU, up to 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and up to 512 GB of UFS 4.0 memory are expected to be included in the OnePlus Fold. It will run Android 13 with OxygenOS 13.1, which may be disappointing given that Android 14 will be released around the same time.

A 4,800 mAh battery with 80W cable charging capability, a 50 MP main camera with OIS, a 48 MP ultrawide lens, a 32 MP periscope telephoto camera, and dual 32 MP selfie cameras for each screen are also included.
