The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced an increase in the price of indigenous liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for July 2024. The new price is set at Rs. 234.71 per kg, up from Rs. 234.59 per kg in June, reflecting a marginal increase of Rs. 0.12 per kg. Consequently, the price of a 11.8 kg domestic LPG cylinder has been adjusted to Rs. 2,769.66 for July, up from Rs. 2,768.23 in the previous month, marking an increase of Rs. 1.43 per cylinder.
OGRA attributed this adjustment to fluctuations in the average dollar exchange rate, which increased by 0.06 percent compared to the previous month. Despite the Saudi Aramco-CP price remaining unchanged, the slight rise in the dollar exchange rate impacted the consumer price of LPG in Pakistan. This adjustment in LPG prices underscores the influence of international factors on domestic energy costs, affecting households and businesses relying on LPG for cooking and heating purposes across Pakistan.
