NBP Opens New Career Opportunities
National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) has announced new career opportunities for experienced and qualified professionals in its Corporate Banking and Communication functions. The vacancies are offered on a contractual basis for three years, with the possibility of renewal at the discretion of management.
The bank is seeking candidates for the positions of Unit Head — Corporate Banking and Communication Officer (OG-III/OG-II). The roles are aimed at professionals with backgrounds in banking, finance, business, communication, public relations and related fields.
Unit Head — Corporate Banking
Candidates applying for the Unit Head — Corporate Banking position must have at least a graduation degree in Business Studies, Finance, Commerce, Economics, Accounting, Engineering or a relevant field. The degree must be from an institution recognised by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.
Candidates with a Master’s degree or professional qualifications such as CA, ICMA, ACCA or CMA will be preferred. Additional certifications such as CFA or FRM may also strengthen an application.
Applicants must have at least two years of experience in the banking industry, including at least one year of experience in Corporate Credit or Corporate Lending.
The position requires strong financial analysis and writing skills, proficiency in MS Office, an analytical mindset and the ability to work under pressure. Candidates should also be capable of preparing credit memos and managing corporate client relationships.
The selected professional will be responsible for preparing credit proposals, business call reports, facility letters, sanction advices and other banking correspondence. The role will also involve managing corporate relationships, identifying cross-selling opportunities and supporting business growth.
The position will require knowledge of State Bank of Pakistan regulations, corporate credit products and internal banking policies. The successful candidate will also monitor portfolio growth, account profitability, regulatory compliance and audit requirements.
Communication Officer
NBP has also announced a Communication Officer position at OG-III/OG-II level. The role is based in Karachi and reports to the Unit Head — Communication.
Applicants must have at least a graduation degree or equivalent from an HEC-recognised institution. Candidates with a Master’s degree or professional certifications will be preferred.
The position requires at least one year of experience in areas such as client relationship management, social services, internal communication, public relations or article writing.
Candidates should have knowledge of content design and strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in MS Office, online meeting platforms such as Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams is also required.
The Communication Officer will support the development of content for emails, newsletters, intranet, social media and other internal communication channels. The role will also involve supporting communication campaigns, employee engagement initiatives and employer branding activities.
The selected candidate will coordinate with internal departments, prepare communication material and maintain content calendars and activity records. The position may also involve preparing presentations, posters, banners, digital-screen content and other corporate communication material.
Contract and Application Process
Both positions are being offered on a three-year contractual basis. The contracts may be renewed at the discretion of NBP management. Selected candidates will receive compensation and other benefits according to the bank’s applicable policies and rules.
Only shortlisted candidates who meet the basic eligibility requirements will be called for assessment tests and/or panel interviews. No TA or DA will be provided for the test or interview.
