Nana Patekar Reveals Rishi Kapoor's Temperament on Set

Veteran Bollywood actor Nana Patekar recently shared insights into his experiences working with the late Rishi Kapoor during a film promotion event. Patekar recalled their collaboration on a 1995 film where Kapoor’s temperamental behavior on set was notable.

According to Patekar, Rishi Kapoor had a tendency to quickly lose his temper, particularly when asked for reshoots or changes in scenes. Patekar recounted an incident where Kapoor reacted strongly when Patekar requested a reshoot, with Kapoor allegedly cursing and expressing his displeasure to the director.

“He would get angry very quickly,” Patekar remarked. “Once, when I asked for a reshoot, he cursed at me and told the director to get rid of me.”

Despite these on-set tensions, Patekar mentioned that he and Kapoor developed a close friendship off-screen. “We became good friends outside the set,” he added, highlighting that their personal rapport transcended their professional differences.

Rishi Kapoor, known for his charismatic performances in numerous Bollywood classics, passed away in 2020 after battling cancer. His legacy continues through his son, Ranbir Kapoor, who has also established himself as a prominent actor in the Indian film industry.

Patekar’s candid remarks offer a glimpse into the dynamic and sometimes challenging relationships that can occur on film sets, showcasing both the professional intensity and personal bonds that shape Bollywood’s storied history.
