Hyderabad Kingsmen fast bowler Mohammad Ali has been fined 10 percent of his match fee. The penalty was imposed for a Level 1 breach of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) Code of Conduct.
The incident involving Mohammad Ali took place during Eliminator 2 against Islamabad United. The match was played at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Friday night.
According to officials, the incident occurred in the 16th over of Islamabad United’s innings. It happened when Faheem Ashraf came to the crease after the dismissal of Haider Ali.
Mohammad Ali was found guilty of violating Article 2.21 of the PSL Code of Conduct. This rule relates to actions that bring the game into disrepute.
Match officials said the charge was reported by on-field umpires Ahsan Raza and Shahid Saikat. The decision was later reviewed by the match referee.
Roshan Mahanama, the match referee, imposed the fine after reviewing the incident. Mohammad Ali accepted the charge without contesting it.
The fast bowler pleaded guilty to the offense. He also agreed to the sanction without any objection. The case was treated as a Level 1 breach under PSL regulations.
The disciplinary action comes during a high-pressure knockout stage of PSL 11. Matches at this stage are closely monitored due to their importance.
Despite the incident involving Mohammad Ali, Hyderabad Kingsmen delivered a strong performance in the match. They successfully defended a target of 186 runs.
Wicketkeeper batter Usman Khan played a key role with an unbeaten half-century. Young pacer Hunain Shah also contributed with an impressive bowling performance.
Hyderabad Kingsmen defeated three-time champions Islamabad United by just two runs. The win secured their place in the final of PSL 11.
The performance highlighted a tightly contested encounter at Gaddafi Stadium. However, the disciplinary issue involving Mohammad Ali remained a key talking point after the match.
