Meta to disable Facebook and Instagram shops

Businesses in the United States will no longer be permitted to have a shop on their Facebook Page or Instagram account after August 10, 2023, unless the shop has Checkout with Facebook or Instagram enabled.

Businesses that do not have an accessible store will no longer be able to use store-related services such as product tagging (in posts, reels, and stories) and establishing new custom or lookalike audiences based on people who visited a shop.

Ads with product tags will be available on Instagram as a solution for new and existing customers to find products at scale through an experience independent of Shops. Businesses who are actively employing product tags do not need to take any action, and their campaigns will continue unabated.
