Marriyum Aurangzaib seeks FIA against responsible for female actors character assassination

Marriyum Aurangzeb, the Minister of Information and Broadcasting, requested the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to take legal action against those parties who were responsible for the character assassination of female actors on social media networking sites.

In a news release, the minister sharply denounced the campaign against the female actors. “The entire society must denounce those who are encouraging the culture of such nefarious efforts intended at spreading insolence and incivility and character assassination.”
According to Marriyum, the artists are not only the nation’s assets but also its international identity because they have overcome numerous obstacles to achieve success and have gained a social position by their own personal labour.

She regretted that whenever a woman attained a lofty stature in journalism, politics, the arts, or any other sector, it became the norm to start character assassinating her. These smear campaigns were directed solely at the women because of their gender.

She grieved that some forces were attempting to undermine women’s efforts, struggles, and accomplishments rather than recognising their strengths. The women had established themselves as role models for bravery and tenacity, and such smear efforts would not stop them from achieving success.
She remarked that “the mentally retarded individuals” only gave thought to protecting the honour of their own mothers and sisters at the expense of everyone else. She continued, “Some people’s treatment of others for holding a different perspective, their disgusting attacks on women, and their involvement in disrespecting and harassing other people’s mothers and sisters demonstrated how they had been raised.”
