“I am overjoyed to announce that I am working on my next book!” the activist penned on social media. “The last few years of my life have been marked by extraordinary transformation — finding independence, partnership and, ultimately, myself. This will be my most personal book yet and I can’t wait for you to read it.”

“This October will mark a decade since I Am Malala was published, shortly after my 16th birthday,” she continued. “I’m excited to share what has happened since and to continue on my journey.”

Malala has experienced several life-changing events in the last ten years. She has now entered the world of production, in addition to actively advocating for girls’ education. Malala will collaborate with Apple Inc to produce several dramas in 2021. Variety reported that she signed a deal for three films last year.

Her production company, Extracurricular, has teamed up with the indie studio A24 on a feature documentary about the legendary “haenyeo” society of fisherwomen on South Korea’s Jeju Island. She also became an executive producer on two Oscar-nominated films, Joyland and Stranger at the Gate.

The memoir was announced Monday by Atria Books, a Simon & Schuster imprint. It is currently untitled, and no release date has been set. The new book is described by Atria as a “breathtaking story of recovery and the search for identity, a candid exploration of her coming-of-age in the public spotlight, and an intimate look at her life today.” There are also plans for young readers and picture book editions.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
