Islamabad Traffic Police has announced the closure of several major motorways and roads from 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 23, until further notice. The advisory affects important routes connecting Islamabad and surrounding areas with other parts of the country.
According to the traffic advisory, the M-1 Peshawar Motorway will be closed from Haroon Bridge. The M-14 CPEC route will also be closed from Kani Bridge near Tarap Interchange, within the jurisdiction of Mianwali Police.
The E-35 Hazara Motorway will be closed from the Hazara Interlink near Burhan Interchange. Meanwhile, the N-5 GT Road will be closed from Attock Khurd.
Other affected routes include the Rawalpindi-Kohat Road, which will be closed from Khushal Garh, and the Abbottabad-Hassanabdal Road, which will be closed from Jhari Kas Checkpost.
The closures will begin at 11:00 p.m. on September 23 and will remain in effect until further notice. Motorists travelling from Islamabad and nearby areas have been advised to consider the situation before starting their journeys.
The traffic police has asked motorists to plan their routes in advance and avoid the affected roads during the closure period. Drivers have also been advised to use alternative routes where possible to reduce delays and inconvenience.
The closure of the M-1, M-14 and Hazara Motorway could affect long-distance traffic travelling between Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northern Punjab and other connected areas. Commuters using the GT Road and regional routes may also need to make alternative travel arrangements.
