Latest Remarks About EX Army Head General Bajwa By Bilawal Bhutto

On Friday, Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, the Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), asserted that former army chief General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa had suggested “facilitating” general elections if the opposition withdrew the no-confidence motion against then Prime Minister Imran Khan. Bilawal disclosed this information during a media address in Karachi, emphasizing that the offer was presented just two days before the motion was passed. The former foreign minister added that Bajwa, through a message, explicitly conveyed his neutrality on the no-confidence motion matter.

Bilawal’s revelation contradicts the consistent narrative of the ousted ruling party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), which has persistently accused the former army chief of colluding with the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) to overthrow their government. In February of this year, the PTI chief claimed that Bajwa, in a statement to a journalist, admitted to bringing down the PTI government, calling for an inquiry into the matter within the army.

During the press conference, Bilawal drew parallels with the 2008 elections, suggesting that defectors could face consequences in defeats. He ominously hinted that a specific party, similar to the fate of one in 2008, might anticipate defeat in the upcoming polls.

Regarding the potential electoral alliance between Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Bilawal expressed optimism about the PPP benefiting from such an alliance.
