Lahore Zoo Shuts Down Temporarily For 3 Months

The Lahore Zoo is scheduled to be closed for three months for renovation and improvement purposes. This decision was approved by the caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi, last month. The upgrade project, estimated to cost approximately Rs. 5 billion, will include the introduction of new animals like Pandas, Hippopotamuses, Rhinoceroses, African pigeons, Black Jaguars, Pumas, and Chiltan Markhors at the Lahore Zoo.

Furthermore, the aquariums in both the Lahore Zoo and Safari Park will become home to over a hundred different aquatic species. The government also intends to establish an African zone, a desert area, and a salt range within the Safari park. In addition to these improvements, an electronic ticketing system will be implemented at the Lahore Zoo and Safari Park.
