Lahore Announces Winter Timings for Schools

The Punjab Education Department has issued updated schedules for both public and private schools in Lahore during the winter season.

Differing slightly for boys’ and girls’ schools, the official notification specifies that boys’ schools will be open from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm on Monday to Thursday and Saturday. On Fridays, there will be no breaks, with schools operating from 8:30 am to 12:15 pm.

In contrast, girls’ schools in the provincial capital will start at 8:15 am and conclude at 2:15 pm from Monday to Thursday and Saturday. On Fridays, they will close at 12:00 pm.

For double-shift schools, the first shift will run from 7:45 am to 12:15 pm without breaks on Monday to Thursday and Saturday. The second shift will continue from 12:30 pm until 5:00 pm, again without breaks on Monday to Thursday and Saturday. However, on Fridays, school hours will be from 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

It’s important to note that these timings are effective from October 16 and will remain in place until April 14, 2024.
