A harassment controversy has emerged at Khawaja Fareed University after WhatsApp screenshots allegedly involving a lecturer and a female student surfaced on social media. The material has raised concerns about student safety and prompted the university administration to launch an inquiry into the allegations.
According to the allegations, the female student accused the lecturer of sending inappropriate WhatsApp messages and repeatedly contacting her through text messages and phone calls. She also alleged that the lecturer pressured her to meet him.
The student further claimed that the lecturer offered better marks and grades in exchange for complying with his demands. She also alleged that she was threatened with academic consequences if she refused.
Screenshots said to show conversations between the student and the lecturer have been circulating on social media. The student reportedly claimed that she has records of the alleged communications and other relevant material that could support her claims.
The student also said that she had contacted the university’s Vice Chancellor through email to report the alleged conduct. The matter gained wider attention after the screenshots were shared online, leading to questions about how complaints involving students are handled and what safeguards are available within the university environment.
Following the controversy, Khawaja Fareed University of Engineering and Information Technology formed an inquiry committee to examine the allegations. The committee is expected to review the screenshots, available information and other relevant records before presenting its recommendations to the university administration.
The university has stated that no formal written complaint had been received from a student at the time of its statement. However, the administration said that if a formal complaint is submitted, the matter will be investigated according to the applicable rules and procedures.
The university also said that necessary action would be taken if any violation is established. This means the allegations remain subject to the inquiry process, and no final conclusion has been reached regarding the lecturer’s conduct.
