Bollywood actor Kareena Kapoor Khan has found herself at the centre of fresh speculation surrounding an upcoming film by filmmaker Arati Kadav.
Recent reports suggested that Kareena was set to star in Kadav’s next project, which is being produced by Harman Baweja. However, the claims have now been described as incorrect, with a source reportedly clarifying that Kareena is not associated with the film.
According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, there is currently no confirmation of Kareena’s involvement in the project.
“The news of Kareena Kapoor being a part of Aarti Kadav’s film, produced by Harman Baweja, is untrue,” the source said.
The source further clarified that Kareena is not attached to the project and that reports suggesting she had joined the cast were inaccurate.
Kareena’s reported film plans
The latest clarification comes as Kareena continues to maintain a busy professional schedule with several projects generating interest among Bollywood audiences.
The actor is set to appear in filmmaker Meghna Gulzar’s upcoming crime drama Daayra, in which she will share the screen with actor Prithviraj Sukumaran.
The film is being produced through a collaboration between Junglee Pictures and Pen Studios.
Daayra is inspired by true events and is expected to explore themes surrounding crime, guilt and justice.
The project has also attracted attention because of the creative team behind it, with Gulzar returning to collaborate with Junglee Pictures after their earlier work on films such as Raazi and Talvar.
Daayra release date announced
Daayra is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on September 18.
The project brings together Kareena and Prithviraj in what is expected to be a crime-focused dramatic story, while Gulzar will handle direction.
The partnership between Junglee Pictures and Pen Studios has also been described as an opportunity to develop story-driven Indian cinema.
Junglee Pictures has previously backed acclaimed productions including Raazi and Talvar, while Pen Studios has been associated with major films such as RRR and Gangubai Kathiawadi.
No confirmation of Kareena’s involvement
Despite the recent speculation, there is currently no confirmed information connecting Kareena Kapoor Khan with Arati Kadav’s upcoming project.
The clarification is likely to put an end, at least for now, to reports that Kareena had been cast in the film produced by Harman Baweja.
For Kareena, the focus remains on her confirmed projects, including Daayra, which is scheduled for a September theatrical release.
The actor continues to be one of Bollywood’s most prominent leading stars, with audiences closely following announcements about her upcoming films and collaborations.
The latest development also highlights how quickly casting speculation can spread online, particularly when reports about high-profile Bollywood actors emerge without official confirmation from the filmmakers or production houses.
For now, fans will have to wait for any official announcement from Arati Kadav, Harman Baweja or Kareena Kapoor Khan regarding the filmmaker’s upcoming project.
Until then, Kareena’s reported appearance in Daayra remains the more firmly established upcoming release in her current lineup.
