Karachi Temperature May Reach 40°C Soon

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicts ongoing hot weather in Karachi this week, with temperatures soaring to 36°C on Monday and expected to climb further.

Residents experienced intense heat, and temperatures are forecasted to rise to 38°C within 24 hours, with a “feels like” temperature reaching 40°C to 42°C. Karachi is currently influenced by continental air from the west, with 14km/h winds and 67% humidity.

A weather analyst anticipates a persistent heatwave throughout the week, with temperatures ranging from 35°C to 37°C, possibly hitting 40°C by the weekend.

Light west and southwest winds are expected, with humidity levels ranging from 40% to 50% during the day and increasing to 80% at night. The forecast indicates prevailing continental air across the country, with dry weather expected in most regions on Monday, though isolated areas in Gilgit-Baltistan may experience partly cloudy conditions with light rain.

Sindh reported the highest temperatures, with Jacobabad at 46°C and Mohenjo Daro and Dadu at 45°C.
