Karachi experienced hot weather on Tuesday as weak sea breezes pushed temperatures higher across the city. The maximum temperature reached 38.7°C, marking an increase of 2.5°C from the previous day.
The heat intensified as the usual cooling effect of sea breezes remained limited. Around noon, temperatures had already crossed 38°C, making conditions uncomfortable for residents.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), Karachi recorded a maximum temperature of 38.7°C. The department also reported humidity at 43 percent during the day.
Winds blowing from the northwest, including air currents coming from Balochistan, also influenced the city’s weather. The reduced intensity of sea breezes contributed to the rise in temperatures.
PMD Forecasts Another Hot Day in Karachi
The PMD’s Early Warning Centre has forecast another hot day in Karachi on Wednesday. Temperatures are expected to reach up to 38°C.
The forecast suggests that residents may continue to experience warm conditions during the coming day. Winds from the west and northwest are expected to blow across the city alongside sea breezes.
These changing wind patterns could influence how the heat feels across different parts of Karachi. However, the forecast indicates that temperatures will remain high.
Residents may need to take precautions during the hottest hours. Staying hydrated and limiting prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can help reduce the effects of hot weather.
Most Parts of Sindh Expected to Remain Hot
The hot conditions are not limited to Karachi. The PMD expects most parts of Sindh to experience hot and dry weather.
Temperatures in several areas of rural Sindh also remained high on Tuesday. Mithi recorded the highest temperature in the province’s rural areas, reaching 41°C.
Shaheed Benazirabad also experienced intense heat, with temperatures reaching 40°C. These readings show that several parts of the province faced hotter conditions than Karachi.
The difference in temperatures reflects the varying weather conditions across Sindh. Coastal areas can receive some cooling from sea breezes, while inland locations may experience more intense heat.
Weather Conditions Remain Under Observation
The PMD continues to monitor temperature changes and wind patterns across the region. Its latest forecast indicates that Karachi will remain hot, with temperatures expected to reach 38°C on Wednesday.
The strength of sea breezes and the direction of regional winds will remain important factors affecting local weather. Meanwhile, hot and dry conditions are expected to continue across much of Sindh.
