Sindh Launches Digital Classrooms for Special Children

JS Bank has received the ESG Award for its Community Health Outreach Programme at the ESG Business Awards, recognising the bank’s efforts to expand access to healthcare for underserved communities across Pakistan.

The award highlights the bank’s community-focused healthcare initiatives, which aim to provide essential medical services, specialist treatment and health awareness programmes to people in areas with limited access to healthcare.

Community Health Programme Covers Three Areas

JS Bank’s Community Health Outreach Programme focuses on three key areas: primary and maternal healthcare in remote regions, specialised free treatment for chronic and reproductive health conditions, and grassroots health awareness.

The programme combines healthcare services with community engagement initiatives designed to reach people who may otherwise face barriers to accessing medical treatment.

One of its flagship initiatives is the Jahangir Siddiqui Hospital in Sehwan, which is operated in collaboration with the Indus Hospital and Health Network.

Over 34,000 Patients Served in 2025

According to JS Bank, Jahangir Siddiqui Hospital provided free medicines and medical services to more than 34,000 patients in 2025.

The hospital also facilitated more than 50 deliveries during the year, supporting maternal healthcare in the region.

In addition to direct medical services, the hospital conducted more than 3,000 community engagement sessions as part of its broader outreach activities.

JS Bank has also supported the hospital’s phased rehabilitation following the 2022 floods, helping maintain healthcare infrastructure in the affected area.

Free Uro Gynae Treatment Provided

Another component of the programme is the Uro Gynae Clinic, which provides free treatment for urological and gynaecological conditions.

The clinic treated more than 900 patients in 2025, providing specialist care to people requiring medical attention in these areas.

JS Bank has also continued its support for the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT).

Through this support, patients can access free specialist healthcare services in areas including nephrology, cancer treatment and organ transplantation.

Breast Cancer Awareness Reaches Tharparkar

The Community Health Outreach Programme also includes health awareness initiatives targeting communities in remote areas.

Through its partnership with PinkDetect, JS Bank took breast cancer awareness activities to communities in Tharparkar.

In 2025, the initiative reached 188 women across four villages, providing awareness and information related to breast cancer.

The outreach programme is designed to take health information directly to communities where access to specialised awareness campaigns can be limited.

Free Clubfoot Surgeries for Children

The programme also supports children’s healthcare through a partnership with NJ Welfare Trust.

Under this initiative, 294 children received free clubfoot corrective surgery along with six months of post-operative care.

The support covers not only the surgical treatment but also follow-up care during the recovery period.

This approach allows children to receive continued medical assistance after surgery rather than limiting support to the procedure itself.

JS Bank Highlights Grassroots Healthcare

Basir Shamsie, President and CEO of JS Bank, said the bank has focused on fulfilling its social and moral responsibility by addressing challenges at the grassroots level.

He highlighted access to quality healthcare as an important area of focus, particularly for underserved communities across Pakistan.

According to Shamsie, the bank’s programmes are intended to create practical and sustained impact on the ground.

The statement reflects JS Bank’s emphasis on long-term community investment rather than one-time healthcare interventions.

ESG Award Recognises Community Investment

The ESG Business Awards recognition comes as JS Bank continues to support healthcare initiatives involving hospitals, specialist clinics and community-based awareness programmes.

The Community Health Outreach Programme brings together multiple areas of healthcare, including primary care, maternal health, specialist treatment, cancer awareness and rehabilitation support.

The figures reported for 2025 include more than 34,000 patients served at Jahangir Siddiqui Hospital, over 900 patients treated through the Uro Gynae Clinic, 188 women reached through breast cancer awareness activities, and 294 children receiving clubfoot surgery and post-operative care.

The award recognises the programme’s continued focus on expanding access to essential healthcare services and supporting communities that face challenges in obtaining medical treatment.

JS Bank said its healthcare initiatives remain focused on long-term community investment and measurable improvements in access to essential services across Pakistan.
