John Cena has shared details about his hair restoration journey, revealing how the treatment boosted his confidence and why he wishes he had undergone the procedure years earlier.
John Cena has spoken candidly about his hair restoration experience, revealing how the treatment has transformed his confidence and changed his outlook on male pattern baldness. Speaking during San Diego Comic-Con, the WWE star and Hollywood actor shared details of his journey while praising the medical team behind the procedure.
In an interview, Cena credited hair restoration specialist Dr Ken Anderson for the successful results, saying the treatment had made a significant difference in his life. According to the actor, his goal was simple—to regain more hair—and he believes the procedure was the best decision he could have made.
Cena revealed that he recently underwent a second hair restoration procedure, around 15 months after his first surgery, to fill a small area that still required treatment. He explained that shaving his head before the operation helped improve the results by allowing doctors to transplant hair follicles more effectively.
Reflecting on the surgeries, Cena shared that his first procedure lasted approximately 13½ hours, while the second took around eight hours. He praised Dr Anderson’s expertise and said he has complete confidence in the treatment process, adding that the results continue to improve over time.
The actor had previously disclosed that he underwent his first Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) procedure in November 2024, followed by another session in June. He admitted that repeated comments from WWE fans about his thinning hair encouraged him to explore treatment options.
Cena recalled seeing signs in wrestling arenas referring to his bald spot, saying those remarks motivated him to seek professional advice. Rather than feeling embarrassed, he decided to address the issue and find a solution that worked for him.
Today, John Cena follows a dedicated hair care routine that includes red-light therapy, minoxidil, specialised shampoo and conditioner, vitamins, and regular care following his hair transplant procedures. He believes consistency has played an important role in achieving positive results.
Looking back, Cena admitted he has one major regret. He wishes he had chosen hair restoration much earlier, explaining that the social stigma surrounding hair loss and cosmetic treatments delayed his decision. He hopes that by sharing his own experience openly, more people will feel comfortable seeking solutions without fear of judgment.
His honest comments have been widely praised by fans, with many appreciating his willingness to speak openly about a topic that often carries unnecessary stigma
