Islamabad Police has announced a second phase of free scooty training for women in the federal capital. The new training sessions will take place from 16 to 30 November. The initiative aims to accommodate more women interested in learning how to ride a scooty.
Chief Traffic Officer Kainat Azhar Khan announced the additional training dates following an overwhelming response. According to an official Islamabad Police post, the number of applications exceeded the available capacity. As a result, authorities decided to divide the training programme into two phases.
The first phase of the programme is already underway. Islamabad Traffic Police previously announced training sessions scheduled from 1 to 15 November. However, the number of women applying for the programme created challenges for the available arrangements.
The training programme offers free scooty riding lessons to women. Participants can learn essential riding skills without paying any training fees. The initiative is intended to help women develop confidence and improve their mobility.
Kainat Azhar Khan explained that the police received more applications than initially expected. She said accommodating all applicants through the existing arrangements had become difficult. The programme currently operates across three daily training shifts.
She also explained the decision to introduce a second phase. According to her statement, the authorities wanted to ensure that more interested women could receive training.
Women who cannot attend the first phase can join the newly announced sessions. Those who cannot secure a place because of limited capacity can also participate. The second phase will provide another opportunity to learn scooty riding free of cost.
Islamabad Police has introduced this arrangement to manage the growing number of applications. Dividing the programme into two phases will help authorities accommodate additional participants. It will also allow more women to benefit from the free training initiative.
The second phase is scheduled to run from 16 to 30 November. Interested women can consider these dates if they miss the first training period. The initiative reflects the growing interest among women in learning independent transportation skills.
