Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has strongly condemned the United States following a new round of reported military strikes, accusing Washington of targeting civilian areas and committing “a new crime every day.”
Ghalibaf claimed that the reported attack on residential homes on Qeshm Island was a continuation of what he described as earlier attacks in Minab and Lamerd. He accused the United States of responding to battlefield setbacks by attacking civilians and warned that Washington would “pay the price” for its actions.
The latest escalation came after the United States reportedly launched a new wave of airstrikes against Iran following a five-night pause. According to the US Central Command (CENTCOM), the operation was completed by 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Wednesday and was carried out in response to Iranian missile attacks on US forces stationed at a military base in Jordan a day earlier.
Iranian state media reported that three civilians were killed in the latest US strikes. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) also announced that three of its personnel were killed in a US missile attack during the operation.
Following the US strikes, Jordan and Kuwait reported Iranian attacks on their territory on Thursday. Kuwaiti authorities confirmed that one person was killed during the reported strike, adding to concerns that the conflict could spread further across the region.
Separately, the IRGC’s Aerospace Force claimed it launched ballistic missile strikes on Jordan’s Al Azraq Air Base in retaliation for the previous night’s attacks. According to Iranian media, the IRGC claimed the strikes destroyed three US F-35 fighter jets and killed multiple American military officers and personnel.
The IRGC also declared that “there is no place in our region for an army that kills children,” adding that its military campaign would continue until the “last American occupier” leaves the region.
The reported claims regarding destroyed fighter jets, military casualties, and battlefield damage have not been independently verified. No official confirmation has been issued by the United States regarding the alleged losses, and the situation remains fluid as tensions continue to rise across the Middle East.
