Sarwar Rana, the Secretary of the Asian Kabaddi Federation, explained that the ban was enforced due to the failure to empower the legitimately elected body of the Indian Kabaddi Federation. Despite multiple requests, the elected representatives were not granted the necessary authority.

Rana stressed that the Indian team would be barred from international competitions until the elected body is properly empowered.
