The 44th match of the Cricket World Cup 2023 between Pakistan and England reached its midpoint with Pakistan facing bowling struggles once again.

Having won the toss, England opted to bat first, posting a substantial total of 337-9 in 50 overs.

England commenced their innings strongly, with openers Dawid Malan and Jonny Bairstow establishing an opening partnership of 82 runs. Dawid Malan was dismissed by Iftikhar Ahmed.

Following Jonny Bairstow’s departure after scoring 59 runs, Joe Root and Ben Stokes built a crucial partnership, contributing 132 runs to England’s total.

Ben Stokes, a middle-order batsman, played a pivotal innings, scoring 84 runs off 76 balls, while Joe Root added 60 runs. Their combined efforts set a challenging target of 338 runs.

Pakistan’s bowling unit faced another setback, with key bowler Shaheen Afridi proving expensive once again. Despite taking 2 wickets, he conceded 72 runs in 10 overs, while Mohammad Wasim Jr claimed 2 wickets, giving away 74 runs.
