Imran Khan's Wife Alleges Food Tampering With Harpic cleaner

In Rawalpindi, Bushra Bibi, the wife of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, disclosed that she had survived a couple of poisoning attempts while under detention at their Bani Gala residence. Speaking to the media after attending a hearing related to a 190 million pound case, she explained that drops of Harpic, a popular toilet cleaner brand in Pakistan, were mixed into her food on the night of Shab-e-Miraj, which falls in the Islamic month of Rajab, indicating that the incident occurred about a month and a half ago.

Research indicates that the consumption of Harpic can lead to deteriorating health conditions about a month after usage, Bushra Bibi noted, mentioning symptoms such as swelling in the eyes, chest and stomach discomfort, and a bitter taste in food and water. She also revealed that something had been mixed into the honey she used.

Despite her detention, Bushra Bibi stated that she was treated respectfully at the residence, though initially, she was not allowed to open windows. However, she can now open them for a short period.

During the court hearing, Imran Khan informed Accountability Court Judge Nasir Javed Rana that there had been attempts to poison Bushra Bibi at Bani Gala, citing marks on her tongue and skin. He requested the judge to order a medical checkup for her, to which the judge directed Khan to submit a separate application for her medical examination.
