Iftikhar Ahmed Traded To Multan Sultans As Rilee Rossouw Joins Quetta Gladiators

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]The excitement for PSL 9 is building with another significant deal completed ahead of the draft. Iftikhar Ahmad, a key middle-order batsman for Pakistan’s cricket team, has officially joined Multan Sultans, while Quetta Gladiators traded their middle-order batter Rilee Rossouw.

This trade goes beyond player swaps, as Quetta Gladiators also exchanged their first-round Platinum pick for Multan Sultans’ first-round Silver pick.

Iftikhar Ahmad, who recently participated in the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup in India, has a rich history in the PSL, having played for Karachi Kings, Peshawar Zalmi, Islamabad United, and Quetta Gladiators. Notably, Lahore Qalandars is the only team he has not represented in the PSL.

The official announcement was made through the Pakistan Super League’s account, confirming the earlier hint dropped by Iftikhar Ahmad himself. The Multan Sultans franchise marks the fifth PSL team he will be a part of.

Iftikhar Ahmad has gained attention not only for his cricket skills but also for the coined term ‘Iftimania,’ highlighting his batting prowess.

Fans associate his exceptional performances with this term.

Additionally, he is affectionately nicknamed ‘Chacha’ (Uncle) due to his appearance, prompting a humorous remark from Pakistan’s spin-bowling coach Saeed Ajmal about his age. Ajmal jokingly mentioned that his older brother used to play with Iftikhar, questioning how he can still be 33 years old.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
