The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has announced an approved power shutdown for Tuesday, September 29.
The shutdown will affect several 11kV feeders in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Power supply will remain suspended from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
According to IESCO, the outage is required to support infrastructure work in the affected areas. The company will shift 11kV lines during the scheduled shutdown.
The work is linked to the widening of the main service road. The project covers the route from Faizabad towards Gulberg Green and Khawaja Corporation Chowk.
Several feeders in the Islamabad Operation Circle will be affected. These include Punjab House, Bari Imam, and Pir Sohawa.
Saidpur and Service Road feeders are also included in the scheduled shutdown. Sohan, Highway, Zia Masjid, and Iqbal Town feeders will also face interruptions.
The Rawalpindi City Operation Circle will also experience an outage. The Fazaia feeder is listed among the affected feeders.
Several feeders in the Rawalpindi Cantt Operation Circle are also included. These include Kalyal, Shahpur, Adyala, and Khasala.
Hamyou-I and Dk Noor feeders will also be affected. Other affected feeders include Gulshan Abad, Rose Lane, and Adyala Jail.
The shutdown will also cover Shaigon and Defence Road feeders. Askari-14, PGHS, and Samar Zar are also included in the schedule.
IESCO has advised consumers in the affected areas to plan accordingly. The temporary outage is scheduled for four hours.
The company said the shutdown has received the required approval. The work will allow crews to shift existing 11kV lines safely.
Line shifting is required because of the planned road widening work. The changes are intended to support infrastructure development along the affected routes.
IESCO has apologized to consumers for the inconvenience caused by the planned outage. It also requested cooperation during the scheduled maintenance activity.
Consumers in the affected areas may experience a temporary interruption. Electricity supply is expected to resume after the work is completed.
