After being replaced by Rizwan for the Australia Test series, former Pakistan cricket captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has left the country, seeking a better future. The 36-year-old cricketer, demoralized about his prospects in Pakistan, has reportedly moved to the UK with his wife and two children, choosing to settle in London.

Despite his departure, Sarfaraz aims to maintain his connection with Pakistani cricket and is committed to playing in PSL Season 9, representing Quetta Gladiators. Sarfaraz Ahmed, a recipient of the Sitara-i-Imtiaz, has played a pivotal role in Pakistan’s cricket history, leading the team to victory in two ICC events.

During his captaincy, Pakistan secured the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy, triumphing over arch-rivals India in the finals. Additionally, Sarfaraz played a crucial part in Pakistan’s victory in the 2006 Under-19 Cricket World Cup, where they defeated India in the final match.

Sarfaraz’s leadership journey began when he was appointed T20 captain in 2016, followed by leading the ODI team in 2017 after Azhar Ali stepped down. Later, he assumed the Test captaincy after Misbah-ul-Haq retired.

Despite stepping down from captaincy roles, Sarfaraz’s contribution to Pakistani cricket has been significant. His decision to move to the UK suggests a personal choice for a different career path and a hopeful pursuit of new opportunities.
